Please consider the Central Dakota Humane Society as a resource if you are considering adding a companion to your household, but remember, adopting an animal is a big decision.  Pets are living beings who require time, money, commitment and lots of love!  But the unconditional love and companionship you receive in return makes it all worthwhile.

Before Adopting a Pet, Ask Yourself...

1. Why do I want a pet?
2. Do I have time for a pet?
3. Can I afford a pet?
4. Am I prepared to deal with special problems?
5. Is it a good time for me to adopt a pet?
6. Are my living arrangements suitable for the animal I have in mind?
7. Will I be a responsible pet guardian?
8. Am I prepared to keep and care for the pet for his or her lifetime?
