Colleen Garland and Marj Smith have offered to host our one-hour training sessions for CDHS volunteer dog walkers.  This training is designed to help all dog walkers be safe and consistent in their handling of the dogs. More

Shaggy Shuffle

One of the Central Dakota Humane Society's biggest fundraisers, the Shaggy Shuffle, will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2008.  This annual event is a walk for the animals starting at the Bismarck Capitol grounds with walkers collecting pledges for shelter expenses. More

Poker for Pets

CDHS will sponsor a Texas Hold-em poker tournament at Midway Lanes on Sunday, September 28, 2008.  Part of the proceeds will be used in the care and housing of the shelter's adoptable pets. More

Storytime at Barnes and Noble

For a great night out, all you need are some kids, some pets and a good book.  That's what CDHS staff and volunteers found out at Barnes and Noble Booksellers when they arrived for Storytime. More

A Year-Round Happening

Of course, every day at CDHS is an event and no two days are the same!  If you haven't already, we invite you to visit our shelter.  CDHS also welcomes volunteers to come and spend one-on-one time with our residents awaiting adoption. More
